crack in foundation

Hi
When we bought our house 18 months ago we were told there was a crack in the foundation resulting in a flooded basement at one time. It was "fixed" and we haven't had a problem since we moved in. With the heavy rain last week we discovered a lot of water coming in that same area. So we are thinking the crack has become bigger. It is in a finished basement although the flooring was never redone, the drywall and trim are still intact and we use this space quiet often. What is your advice for fixing this as inexpensively as possible?
Thank you!
Rachel

re: Crack in Foundation

First - Isolate the area - determine where the water is coming from and clear the area. - Remove any rugs, or organic material away from where the water is coming in.

To have a proper inspection done, a small section of wall can be removed from the area in which the water is coming from - Here one of our project managers can assess the type of crack and determine the best solution for repair.

Depending on the conditions of the walls, insulation and flooring, you might need to remove a larger section or have it repaired due to water damage (we wouldn't want you to ignore it and have it progress into a mold issue).

Isolating the area - DIY = Free
Removing small section to see foundation = DIY = Free
Basement Inspection = FREE
Solution = variable dependant on the outcome of the inspection.

Let me know if you'd like us to have someone out to look at the area.
