There is a small spot in the corner wall of our basement, an area that has a wooden floor over it (about 1/4 of the basement has this wooden floor), where there are a couple of mold-like circles about 4 inches in diameter. They are black. They are on the concrete foundation wall, just above the wooden floor area.

Aside from moisture solutions in general , what product is most effective in getting rid of this kind of mold? I have seen ozone generators for shock treatment of mold, and special formulations with ben something cloride and ammonium salts (claimed to be far superior to bleach) being advertised on web sites.

In your experience what should a homeowner use?

The best way to control mold is to fix any water leaks in the basement and then keep the relative humidity below 50%. Mold can be controlled by installing a SaniDry Basement Air System in your basement. I would recommend that you do one of two things 1) Order a "Condensation Puck" a test block for condensation ($15.00 each) at 1-800-649-6140 and we can send you one for you to test yourself. 2) Call our office for a free written estimates from one of our specialists.
