View Full Version : damp crawl space

I put an addition on a few years ago. The foundation was built with cement blocks. I insulated between the floor joist and covered everything with plastic. The floor is dirt. It always is moist and smells of mildew. One of the windows has a screen in it to try to vent it, but it doesn't seem to help. I recently noticed that the plastic has brown build up on the inside of the plastic and insulation. I haven't noticed any bugs, but I did see some rodants.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Jim

First, I would recommend encapsulating the crawl space with CleanSpace. (see movie on the website and request a brochure from us right online).

Second, once the crawl space has CleanSpace installed I would recommend closing all windows and vents. We would then recommend that you install a SaniDry Basement Air System either in the crawl space or upstairs in a closet, etc. and vent to the crawl space.

Call Tina and have her schedule an appointment with one of our Certified Waterproofing Professionals to give you a free written estimate.
