Can anyone help me on this? I probably will win the award for most disgusting basement. I just moved into a newly renovated (fromt the ground up)home with a dirt basement. It looks like they dug a hole, placed the furnace in it and built the home over the hole. There is now about 6" of putrid water, no drain, no pump. The whole house stinks like wet dirt and God only knows what else. Fortunately I do not own this home, but it is basically unliveable right now and I will need to find a place to stay until my landlord fixes it. What are his options? This stinks!!
