I am in process of buying a new home. Yesterday during the home inspection the inspector noticed 2" of standing water under the stairs leading into the cellar from the bulkhead. We love the house but have concerns about the water build up as we have never had to deal with water issues. The bulkhead entrance is is part of the poured concrete foundation so we are not really sure where the water is entering. The inspector noted to have a professional evaluation performed as it may need to have a french drain installed. We would like to move forward with the house purchase and would like a permanent solution. Any suggestions?

Bulkhead Leaks are common. I think your inspector gave you good advice. I would recommend that a Certified Waterproofing Professional look at the basement and give you a free written estimate to repair.
It will usually require a WaterGuard System and a mini trench drain to a SuperSump system. This is a very common repair for us and will usually take about 6-8 hours. Call Tina at 1-800-649-6140 or request an appointment right here online to schedule an appointment with one of our Reps. Thanks for visiting us at pioneerbasement.com, SteveA
