Hi all,
I just installed a sump pump and have a temporary hose discharing the water into the backyard (far awawy from the house). Do you have any recommendations as to the best way to handle the discharge? I am considering burying as 4" corrogated, perforated flexible PVC line and terminating it into a dry well type structure. This way I figure anything that doesn't leach thrpough the pipe will discharge in the drywell. How far down do I need to bury the pipe and does this approach sound reasonable? Any recommendations?

Thans,
Nick

Nick I recommend that your sump pump discharge line be solid pipe for at least 7- 10 feet away from the house. You can install a underground well to store the water back into the ground. You need to be concerned with the pipe freezing. At Pioneer we will either install a 3" solid pipe with Ice Guard -(anti-freeze device) at least 10 feet away from house.

We also have some other options that one of our Certified Waterproofing Prodfessionals can give you info on along with a free written estimate. Call Tina at 1-800-649-6140 or e-mail me at stevea@pioneerbasement.com and I will arrange for a Rep to look at it. Thanks SteveA
