We purchased our home 3 years ago and whenever there is a downpour, our finished basement (family room and bedroom) flood. We have two sump pumps (one on each side of the house). This last bout of rain on Wednesday brought the water in again. The water does go towards the sump pump, but not all of it. We always end up using the wet vac. Do you have any suggestions? Also, if we put in a drainage system, would we have to tear up the basement? (We have tile in the family room and indoor/outdoor carpet in the bedroom)

Aimee:

We certainly can help you with your problem. Call the office or schedule an appointment right here online.

As far as gutting the basement? If you have had excessive amounts of water, wallboard and carpet get wet time after time, I would recommend at least taking out the bottom part of the walls. You never know what kind of mold could be growing back there.

But wait until we look before gutting. Our rep can assist you and give recommendations.
