I have a dirt crawl space with some ground water problems. I want to install french drains and then cement over that when it is done. The problem is I can only dig down about six inches until I begin to hit water. How can I remove some of the gorund water in the crawl space so I can dig depper then six inches to install the french drains? There is already a sub pump in there.

Thanks

Tentboy:

The fact that you are hitting water should be a clue as to why there is a crawlspace there to begin with.

I highly recommend you contact our office and schedule an appointment to have us come out and look at the crawlspace. What you are proposing to do is probably overkill for your issue.

Checkout our CleanSpace encapsulation system here on the website. We can install this in your crawl and give you some useful storage space at the same time. While saving you energy and adding warmth to the upper floors.
