Estimate by competitor was $500 less with two pumps. Pioneer says I only need one pump; how can you be sure one pump can handle the water seepage problem?

Dear waterbug,
I want to thank you for your question. I am happy that I can answer this on public forum. 1) All of Pioneers System Design Specialist are Certified thru Basement System training. During this training they learn which type of pump is best for the application needed. Pioneer uses primarily the Zoeller M53 1/3hp which pumps 2200 GPH at 8 ft. head. For most basements in our area this is what I would recommend along with at least an UltraSump battery back up pump attached in the same basin.
However, if the water comes in at a faster rate than that we would than recommend a Zoeller M98 1/2hp pump which is capable of pumping 4230 gph or roughly 72 gpm at a 5 ft head. If more is needed than that a M137 1/2hp pump would be recommended which can pump 6240 GPH at 5 ft head.
2) Are you with me so far Waterbug, then think about this !
Sometimes I feel that sump pumps are like wood stoves. I can remember the lesson I learned when I was 24 and thought I knew everything, Yes the mistake of buying and installing a wood stove that was bigger and better than I needed. What happen whenI lite the stove was drive the familyout of the room. So I needed a bigger room or a smaller stove. Just because a sump pump is bigger doesn't mean it is the right one for you.
3) Waterbug I am very surprised to find out that Pioneer Basement price is only 500.00 more than our competitor, with all that we offer I would think that we would be at least 800.00 to 1000.00 more. (Our competitors do raise their price when it gets busy and then drop it when it is slow - we have a published price list which our Design Specialist go by, I am going to check and make sure our rep charged you the right price.)
Well, I am trying to make a point by being funny, Pioneer is the best and when you give my company the confidence of doing your work , your money goes to work for you (my 20 years of bussiness under the same company name with memberships in three Better Bussiness Bureaus and past President of a National Association of Waterproofing & Structrual Repair Contractors during years 2000-2002. Not to mention that Pioneer is Basement Systems largest dealer in the world ( that is 4 countries with 120+ dealers). I think for a guy with a dream and a lot of hard working 15 hour days I did alright ( I worked in the trenches for 12 years running a jackhammer all day.) I beleive that if you want the best (and Pioneer is ) then believe me and anyone that knows me , I am a man of my word and I would like to view your basement personally and put all my experience to work for you. Call me at 1-800-649-6140 so we can set a time.
Don't make a mistake for a few hundred dollars. Thanks again for writing - SteveA
ps. I appreciate your feedback so I will give you another $50.00 off any web coupons you have, thanks again)
