We have a fieldstone foundation in our 1948 home. The leaking occurs around some of the stone and moarter. Anything we can do to prevent the leaks. Do it myself drylock? Get a Mason to repoint?

Greg:

Depending on the severity of the seepage, you could repoint it. Sealants generally are designed for poured or block walls. I haven't seen anyone meet with much success on stone walls.

If you are getting any ignificant volume of water, I would recommend that you have a professional take a look at it for you.

Let us know if we can help you any further.
