We have a new house built in an area with a lot of ledge. The contractor went to great pains to properly grade the site, and install French drains.
A few weeks after we moved in the basement floor developed some hairline cracks. In humid wether these 'wicked'
moisture up to the surface but left no standing water.
All the recent snow melt caused no problem, but the heavy rain in the last couple of weeks has resulted in pudles
caused by water coming up thru the cracks.
Is there any thing I can do to prevent this?
