Our house is almost 4 years old. We have a gas fireplace, so our foundation extends out in a rectangle for the gas fireplace, something like this: l____l We have a leak in the basement in one of the corners of this extension, and it drips off a piece of metal that sticks out from the corner of the concrete, about 6 inches off the floor. There appears to be a crack running down the corner, and there is a lime stain I assume from the water that is leaking in. One storm fills up a turkey pan that we have under the piece of metal. Any suggestions?

Thank you for visiting pioneerbasement.com It sounds like the leak you have is a normal foundation wall crack. It is normal for one to appear in corners such as you described. The metal piece in the wall is a rod tie which was used to hold the concrete forms together when the wall was poured.

I would recommend that you call our office at 1-800-649-6140 and schedule with our office for a free written estimate to correct this problem. I am sure the rep will recommend a FlexiSpan Crack Repair which you can read about at this link www.pioneerbasement.com/foundation.html It is a simple repair that can be done in 2 hours. SteveA :)
