We are building a new house in Needham and we know that the water table can reach 2-3 feet above the basement floor in the winter/spring. The house sits primarily on ledge.
We have installed a french drain with gravel under the basement floor and are about to install two 1/2 HP sump pumps in opposite corners. We are also putting in a natural gas backup generator.
Our question is the disposal of the water. One option is to spend about 5,000 to connect to the towns storm drown that is 150 ft away (the town allows this). We gave up on the dry well idea, based on the water table. Is there anything else we should consider?
