Hello,

My basement walls are made from Cinder blocks. Some of the blocks are beginning to crumble. The cement on the outside fo the foundation has cracked and fallen off in some places. We now get water in the cellar through some of these cracks. Is there something that I can do to fix this problem? Thanks

You need to be careful with this problem. First question , why is the cinder block crumbling ? Have you had a water problem for many years ? What is the age of the block? I would recommend that you contact a structural engineer to look at the walls and determine a plan of repair. hope this helps SteveA

Hello,

I might be phrasing it wrong as far as the cinder blocks crumbling. The basement it made from cinder blocks and on the outside of the foundation there was I guess a cement covering put on the blocks--that covering is cracking and falling off so you can now see the cinder blocks and it seems to be where water is coming in when it rains. Is ther something that I can just put on the foundation to seal it back up or do you think this might be something more? Thanks

I would contact a reputable mason contractor who can remove and replace this coating" for you. Check his references and ask about his warranty. Hope this helps. SteveA
